Taupe Brown Solid
What color wall paint would go best with forest green carpet?
My family and I are moving to a house that has a multi-tone forest green carpet through out most of the house. I am not excited about the color, but it was just installed and we probably will not replace it for a few years. The walls are currently covered in a lot of flowery wall paper, which is not my style at all. I like bold solid colors like browns, reds etc. I was thinking a burgandy color in the dinning room (too much like christmas colors?)and a taupe in the living room. The trim and woodwork is white. I also need a color for the foyer (huge vaulted ceiling) I love color, but the carpet is really throwing me off. Thanks

It is a very large victorian house (12 foot ceilings) the rooms are very spaceous and full of huge windows, so looking small is not a problem. I would like it to feel warm and cozy rather than cool and sterile.
If you want it all to pull together lok at a color wheel. With forest green as your common floor you need to balance the heavy green. and you need to do three areas, and you prefer bold colors.
In your dinning room go with a Adobe red (It isn't too red, has a touch of brown in it)
In your ares with vaulted ceilings go with an oyster shell white (It has a very light tinge of purple in it and will work well with your colors)
In your Liging room you have the floor ad the whitre trim so I'd go with a Shade of peach this will complement the red in the dinning room, the lightness of the vaulted space and include and balance your multi-toned green floor.
