Top Panel Flowers
What are some good ideas for a wall painting?
Me and my sister (16 and 12) are moving into a bigger room. We are glad to get to paint and decorate it. There is 3 ft of wood paneling on the bottom that will be dark brown, and the top part will be turquoise. I like to paint and want to decorate a small open wall with something simple. What are some good ideas of what to paint? I've thought about abstract flowers, overlapping circles, and some kind of wavy/curvy design. It will probably be white, brown, and light blue. Any comments and answers are appreciated.

If flower is your choice of wall painting, what I would suggest is to visit home depot first. They usually have a supply of opened paint at bargain sales prices. Get many different colors so that you have more material to work with.
I would then give your wall a light pencil trace so that you have an idea of the works you'll be doing. My recommendation is to paint a garden. If done right, your room will look as though it is connected to another space. Here's an example:

You should know, though, that the quality of wall painting can make or break the room. If you are not confident about your painting abilities, my suggestion is to find a good muralist to do it for you.
