My headphone jack on my laptop broke, I need help?
The headphone jack broke and got pushed into the laptop to where i cant plug the headphones in. On top of that, i think the computer thinks a pair of headphones is plugged in because no sound will come out of the speakers. Is there any way to fix this through the control panel or something? I just want to be able to listen to things through my computer speakers.
It really depends on your hardware/software. Some motherboard BIOS's will allow you to set the default action when plugging in headphones (disable built in speakers or not), and if the BIOS doesn't have that setting, some sound card drivers allow it, but usually its the higher end sound cards that have this type of driver (like Turtle Beach or Creative). The only advice I can give you is to search around in your motherboards BIOS for any audio settings, and if that doesn't work, then check the audio control panel. If you can't find a setting in either place, then you might be stuck. See if you can pull the plug back out a little with a pair of fine needle-nose pliers.
