Window Film Installers
Why won't my ITNS-300 Film & Slide Converter work?
I am trying to install a ITNS-300 film and slide converter on to my Windows XP desktop. I installed the software and everything, but when I plugged my scanner in, it said it found the hardware, but then it said I couldn't install the hardware because "The class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device." What does this mean and can I fix it? And when I plug the scanner in, it lights up and works, but when I open the program it says I don't have it plugged in. Please help.
There are so many possibilities for the error youre getting it would be impossible to cover them all in a forum like this. Here are two quick thoughts
1. Your installation CD has drivers for Windows XP 32 bit and 64 bit. Did you install the correct one? If not youll have to delete the driver you installed and install the proper driver for your system.
2. Sometimes errors occur using the autoplay installation from a manufacturers disk. Delete the driver and software you installed.
Insert the installation disc. When the installation menu appears click "cancel" and leave the disk in the drive.
Go to start>control panel>scanners and cameras>add device
Click "next" on the opening window
Click "have disk" on the next window
Select the drive containing the disk and follow the instructions
If neither helps there are other possibilities. It may be best to contact IT by phone for help. It would be faster than a bunch of emails.
