my home was burglarized?
I was out of town for 1 week,& i came home and noticed my jewlery,2 dvd players,my laptop,& my shotgun were missing..it appears the burglar came in through the bathroom window & imguessing he is a very skinny suspect because that window is very small..i made a police report with the local sherriff but im still worried this burglar might shoot somebody with my shotgun & i get blamed for it because its under my name..what would happen if my shotgun is used in a shooting?
You may be questioned, but I doubt you would be directly accused, unless, of course, you staged the burglary to report the guns stolen in an attempt to cover up a shooting that you did commit.
Seriously though, it would be known during the course of the investigation that your guns were stolen. You may feel a little guilty about not keeping your guns securely locked in a gun safe, but it's really not your fault that someone stole your guns and used them to commit a crime.
